Water management

Water management becoming increasingly important in agriculture

In current agriculture, water management is receiving more and more attention. By having the water household in good order, water is used more efficiently and maximally while at the same time minimizing the impact on the environment. Sustainable agriculture is thereby made even more possible, think for example of activities such as irrigation management, drainage, and preservation of water quality. The challenge is to provide enough water for crop growth, but also to reduce waste and pollution.

Water management solutions

Drainage cleaning

Homburg Holland is at the forefront of agricultural technology with the Draincleaners, specifically developed for the efficient cleaning of (clogged) drainage. These machines, equipped with advanced features, build on years of practical experience. They are characterized by ease of use and robustness, resulting in reliable and efficient performance.

pH regulation

The WaterXTR™, a CO₂ injection system, has been developed to optimize the pH value of spray liquids in agriculture. This versatile system can be installed both stationary and on field sprayers. It enables stabilization of the water’s pH value between 5 and 7, which increases the effectiveness of crop protection agents and fertilizers.

Leveling

One of the primary goals of leveling is to create an efficient drainage system for agricultural land. Good water management starts with a well-leveled plot, which ensures an even discharge of excess water. This creates optimal growth conditions.

Water management: innovation and technology

In modern agriculture, innovative technologies and methods are increasingly important for effective water management. Sensors that measure soil moisture, advanced irrigation systems that can be controlled via smartphones, and satellite images to assess the need for water in different parts of the field are just a few examples. Sustainable water management is essential not only for preserving water resources but also for ensuring long-term food security. In this context, water management plays a central role in adapting to and mitigating the effects of climate change on agriculture. Through careful water management, farmers can not only increase their crop yield and business efficiency but also contribute to more sustainable and responsible agricultural practices.
